Machines, Showers, and Songs Oh My!

If you frequent my corner of the internets frequently, you probably already know that a Tuesday post from me is rare! I think the last Tuesday post here was when I was out of work. This week, I was ahead of the game though / sitting at the cool kids table because I have two posts already scheduled. (Yesterday's and tomorrow's!) So, high five / go me / I'll enjoy a beer later.

This past weekend was so jam-packed full of STUFF that I had to share. So, yes ladies and gents, you read that correctly... not only are you getting a Tuesday post this week, but you're also getting a weekend recap of sorts! I'll wait while you pick up your jaws from the floor.

// Friday
Typical work day for the most part, but I had my first client lunch meeting... ever! I was slightly nervous, but it ended up going really well. (Like all of my twitter followers reassured me of). I was just so out of my comfort zone it was ridiculous. I'd be very OK with never having to do that again.

//Saturday
Hubby had a craving for Red Robin (yummmm). So we went as a nice little family of four for a random lunch date. Of course the closest Red Robin to us is about 45 minutes away; sometimes I don't like living so far out in the country. After lunch we met up with my mother in law to do a little shopping. She likes to spoil the kids, so they got tons of (not so much needed) new clothes. Oh well, not my money and it makes her happy. Whatever. Anyway, during our shopping trip Zander was singing silly songs he's learned from school. Thanks to him I now have had "Rain, Rain Go Away" in my head since then! I tried to ask him to sing a different song, but he's like a broken record, and he's been stuck on this song for days. Oh well, it makes me happy that he likes to sing.

Red Robin!

// Sunday.
Oh Sunday... how I hated you so much. For the most part. Sunday's I usually do laundry. I try to start it as early as possible to finish the washing part as soon as possible.The folding doesn't always get done, but that's neither here nor there. I had a late start this past Sunday. Around 10 AM I heard that the washer had stopped so I went to put everything in the dryer... only, the washer was still full of water. And clothes. Fantastic. Hubby and I spent the next few hours trying to figure out the problem with the help of google and youtube. We think it might be the knob / timing switch but ultimately I had to call someone to come out and look at everything. Which was a pain in the butt... why do so many repairmen charge SO MUCH just to come in the house? I finally found a guy that didn't charge an arm and a leg to come in the house, and what we are paying to have him look at it goes towards the repair. Win win. He'll be here today at Three. Fingers crossed it's not anything too serious.

After spending way too long on the washing machine, I was left with very little time to get ready for a bridal shower. I had no clue what to wear, but once again: twitter friends to the rescue! (I think I nailed it). This is a friend from high school getting married next month. The shower was a little awkward because most of the people there were her family (aunts, grandparents, future in-laws, etc). The bridal party mostly consists of girls that never spoke to me in high school anyway, so I mostly stayed in a corner with the one bridesmaid I did talk to in high school. She happens to be the only other one in the room that is my age with two kids and married. In the end I'm glad I went and I'm looking forward to the wedding next month. Here's hoping someone read Meagan's blog about wedding tips!
Me and the Bride-to-be!

So how was your weekend?

Getting to Know You (pt. 1)

OK, y'all... I confess... I totally stole this idea from Lora at Heart of Life. Go check her out, you won't be sorry.

And because of the title of today's post I give you Julie Andrews!

This will be a two part series because I really don't want to do 45 questions all at once.
Part one: "Would You Rather" Questions.
...Watch, Star Wars, or Star Trek?without question: Star Wars. I enjoy both, but given a choice it would have to be Star Wars!
...Read on a Kindle or paperback book?
I love paperback. I don't own a Kindle or anything like it, so maybe that's why I don't get it, but I prefer a
good old fashion book. Currently I'm reading the most recent book in the Blue Bloods series by Melissa

De La Cruz.
...Go to a play or musical?I love musicals. Phantom of the Opera is my all time favorite. I love everything about singing and music.
...Go to the theater or a movie?I think this is referring to the theater as in a show or something like that. If that's the case I pick theater. I prefer watching movies from home because of the lovely little pause feature!
...Hike or bike?Hike. I despise the bike. I don't even touch the bike at the gym. I don't understand how freaks (read: people) can stay on the bikes for more than 10 minutes at a time. If you're one of those freaks, that I talk to on a regular basis I'm not sorry... you're a freak I don't understand how your ass doesn't hurt all the time!
...Wear jeans or chinos?Um jeans. I don't even know what a chinos is (are?) memo to self: google this later...
...Have a Margarita or Pina Colada?Margarita please! Nuff said. ;)

...Drink a glass of Guinness or Fat Tire?
yuck... can I pick neither? If I am drinking beer I want it to be Yuengling

...Crash with friends or stay in a hotel?Crash with friends. I'm cheap.
...Visit Europe or Mexico?Europe. I live in the southern part of the US. Mexico is close enough to where I experience their culture daily. I want to experience something new.
...Vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why?Hawaii please. And why? Um because I hate the cold. I'm a baby. I want warm, tropical with a beach. I hate the sand, but no where near as much as I hate the cold.
...Go skiing or snowshoeing?who snowshoes anymore? seriously? Is that still a thing? I guess skiing, but I'd rather snowboard
...Travel by plane, train, or automobile?Planes. But given I have a family of four, two of which are small children automobile is usually the mode we take. Planes are so much faster though.
...Enjoy a houseboat or speed boat?Houseboat. I like having luxuries from home on the boat.
...Go climbing or zip lining?
zip lining. I guess if I have to choose
...Go to a comedy club or dance club?comedy club. I'm a horrible dancer. I'd rather laugh at someone else than feel like someone is laughing at my dancing.
...Have a night out or evening in?Night out. As long as it's not to a club. I spend a lot of nights in. I need a date night!
...Watch TV or read a book?read a book. I usually have the TV on just for background noise when I'm doing something else (like now). I enjoy focusing idle time with a book
...Go canoeing or waterskiing?canoeing. I'm scared of waterskiis.
...Camp in an RV or stay in a tent?
omg. RV please! I've stayed in a tent so many times that it's scarred me for awhile. I don't mean to sound like a spoiled brat, but I'd rather not "rough it" for awhile. I just don't want the RV experience like from the movie.

...Use Facebook or Twitter?Twitter. I use facebook because a lot of my family is on there and they don't tweet
...Choose a free trip or money?
Free trip. I have a job for money, but because of bills and such I don't get free trips.
...Win the lottery or find your perfect job?win the lottery. nuff said. ;)
...Swim in a pool or the ocean? Swim in a pool. I like the ocean and beaches, but since I'm not a fan of sand in my bathing suit I prefer swimming in pools.
...Travel by sailboat or cruise ship?sail boats for short distances. cruise ships for long distances.
...Watch sports or play sports?watch sports. I'm not very athletic. I used to be, but now I'm a couch potato.
...Play dodgeball or kickball?kickball because it's more like baseball.

So there you have it, y'all. 27 questions about me. Part two will publish the next time I have a blank on post ideas.
