The Best of Conversations!

Do you ever have the days where the voices in your head just kind of take over? Just me? I kind of feel like it's been happening a lot more lately. Maybe it's because the only person I have to talk to throughout most of the day is two and her reply to everything is "Yeah, Mommy. I know."

While the plumber is fixing a leak:
I go to the kitchen to make juice for the kids... "Stupid, Melissa. The plumber just said he turned the water off!"

While stretching after a workout:
"Why is there a pile of crumbs under the dog's bed? I need to clean those up later." (guess what, I'm reminding myself of this again as I'm typing this.)

Blogging with the T.V. on in the background:
"What was that commercial even about? The song was catchy. Too bad I had to finish typing a sentence before I could look up." *I looked up for a second* "Ugh. This stupid beer commercial. I'm going back to blogging."

Watching Ridiculousness:
"Wait, people really get muscle implants? Why is that a real thing? Add this to the never ending list of crap to tell the kids not to do."

Random out loud thinking:
"I feel like I need to be planning for our Jersey trip more. It's in September but you never know."
"I need to get an ironing board. Or find something to use other than the floor."
"I cannot believe I broke my coffee pot!"

and then of course, when I'm actually talking to the kids, I feel like I'm talking to myself.
"Ainsley, the cat doesn't want to be painted. Put the paintbrush down."
"Zander, don't leave your socks in the middle of the floor. Put them in the hamper."
"Ainsley! We cannot run outside in just our underwear!"

Conversations with Josh

By now, I'm very positive that most of the internet has seen the stupid dress that has been trending everywhere. Thursday night was when I was first introduced (I guess is a good way to put it?) to that damn dress. When I still see glimpses of it I still see it being white and gold. That's all I'm saying about what I think about the dress color currently. However, I do think it's cool that there's a scientific explanation online about why people are seeing different colors. Maybe it could be blue and black. I dunno. It's an ugly dress anyway. Why aren't we talking about the Llamas escaping?? (That news report MADE MY DAY on Thursday).
Anyway, y'all we're here because we're linking up with Amanda for My Conversations. I brought up that dumb dress because of a conversation Josh and I had about the dress. Warning, this post is NOT PG.

Me: Babe, what color is this dress? *shows him the picture*
Josh: Blue and black. *he goes back to playing trivia crack*
Me: Shut up! No it's not! It's white and gold!
Josh: Um, no. You're wrong. It's blue and black.
Me: (because I'm SUPER mature, y'all) You're wrong. and you're a jerkface.

-- a few minutes go by and Josh has gone from Trivia Crack to checking Facebook--

Josh: WHAT THE FUCK?! What the actual fuck?! Someone CHANGED that picture. That's not the same picture that you showed me. How is that possible?!
Me: *confused* Um... what??
Josh: I SAW WHITE AND GOLD. WHITE! AND! GOLD!
Me: *dying of laughter at this point* I told you it was white and gold!
Josh: No! It's not possible! Someone changed the picture. Someone changed the internet.
[he shuts off Facebook and opens it back up.]
Josh: SEE?! Now it's blue and black again. Someone CHANGED the internet! What kind of sorcery is this shit?!?!!! Someone changed the picture!!!

I spent a good part of that night laughing hysterically about how massively he was freaking out. Best thing ever.
So that's all I have to really say about the dress. I'm not going to ask what color y'all think it is, because I don't really care anymore. But if you have some funny conversations ABOUT the dress... (did you or someone you know freak out like Josh did?)

Conversations at Dinner

Happy Sunday, y'all! I hope you had a great Valentine's day... even if it was like Kasey, with your best friend, Jose
We spent the day like any other day. My mom and brothers came over for a bit. If you follow me on instagram, you saw my brothers practicing skills of tying each other to trees. Great fun. Afterwards, me, Josh and the kids went to movie stop to find a few new movies. My "valentine's" gift was The Lucky One. I cannot get Josh to watch it with me though. The night ended with dinner at Applebee's (aka Monroe's finest "date night" facility). Ha! It really was a great day. I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm showing up for the party on this (really cold) Sunday to
link up with Amanda (and Faith) for the super fun
My Conversations!

To set the scene: last night we were sitting at Applebee's. It was me, Josh, the kids, Josh's best friend (for the sake of this we'll call him D) and his 2 kids. So three adults, 4 children.

I was telling them about when I went to an NA / AA meeting to support some friends.

Me: Yeah, when they went around the room saying first names & "I'm an addict" and stuff like that I decided to be a smart alec.

Josh: Um... Babe? What did you do?

Me: Nothing serious. I simply said, "Hi! I'm Dory and, well um... I don't think I've ever eaten a fish!"
*all dying of laughter*
(I've never done any drug, so me being at a meeting like that reminded me very much of Dory going to the fish anonymous meeting!)

Me: Everyone at the meeting thought I was hilarious!

[several minutes pass and the waitress finally comes to see us. She starts to tell us about the specials]

Waitress: Oh no! It looks like y'all don't have the salt and pepper caddy! I needed that to show you the new drinks.

D: Were the people before us black?
(( D is in fact black himself )) --long pause--
D: I bet they stole the caddy!

Waitress: *dying of laughter* OH MY GOSH! That's the funniest thing I heard all night!

Josh: *spewed his sweet tea!* Good grief, man! You could warn someone before you make a comment like that!

Waitress: Don't worry, I'm not offended! That was hilarious.

Josh: But I made a mess!

And that, friends is pretty much how the entire night went. There were several moments that we all made the waitress blush and burst out with laughter. It was a great night for sure!

Do you have a funny conversation? Link up with Amanda to share!
