Clearly, I have a lot of baseball memories. If I had to pick my absolute favorite one though it would be from October 1995. For those that aren't familiar with Braves history, that's the last time they won the world series. I was 7 years old with a strict 8:00 P.M. Bedtime. However, for the World Series games, my dad let me stay up to watch! We belted out "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at the bottom of the 7th. Let's face it, who doesn't belt it out though?
Y'all... this was a huge deal for my little 7 year old self. Not only did I get to stay up PAST my bedtime, but I got to bond with my dad over baseball. I'll never forget cheering at the T.V. Or booing when Cleveland would score. My dad is absolutely thrilled that I still remember this. But, how could I not?!
A close second favorite memory would be taking Zander to his first baseball game. It was August 2011, he was 18 months. My boss at my old job had season tickets for the Gwinnett Braves. Every now and then he'd give out the tickets when him and his family didn't want to go. So not only did we have free (amazing) seats, parking was included! HECK YES!
I'll never forget how fascinated Zander was watching the game. At first he wasn't sure what to think, but he quickly got into it. A kid after my own heart! It also helped that it was a minor league game, and the mascot interacts with the kids a LOT. He still watches baseball with me now.
What's your favorite baseball memory? Are you a diehard Braves fan like me? Link up with Kasey and Jessa to share!

ReplyDeleteI AM OBSESSED with baseball! I can NOT get enough! I didnt like until I met my husband - who loves it- and taught me how the game works. Now its SO interesting to me! My first Detroit Tigers game was a no-hitter. I was in high school and I had no idea what that meant but I was excited haha! Now I would kill to see another no-hitter!
ReplyDeleteYES!! I'm all for a Gbraves game! :)
ReplyDeleteI know we haven't been to a game since 2012 I think. The last one was just me and Josh (PRAISE!) hahaha. Come to GA in the summer & you can go to GBraves w/ us and Kasey!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable. I've never been to a baseball game and this totally makes me want to!
ReplyDeleteFunny story, the little boy I nanny for is 14 months, and whenever he gets upset I've learned to sing Take Me Out to the Ball Game and he calms down INSTANTLY (the whole family are huge baseball fans.) it's adorable.
It's so fun! I like watching because it's easy to get into the game & UNDERSTAND! lol. How fun to see a no-hitter!
ReplyDeletethat IS really adorable!! LOVE!! I highly suggest going to a game if you can! They're so much fun. AND THE FOOD!!! ohh sooo good! hahaha. Plus, any excuse to wear a baseball cap is great. haha
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteGirl I am right there with you on Brave baseball! I remember watching the games with my grandpa and so many of the players through the years!
ReplyDeletethis is why we're friends! LOVE the Braves! :) I'm really sad Bobby Cox retired. Did you know he hold the record for the most ejections in a game? lol!
ReplyDeletethanks! :) I love that Zander likes baseball with me. Josh could care less. lol
ReplyDeleteWE LOVE baseball season here...LET'S GO BUCS! Raise the JOLLY ROGER! haha...can you tell I'm excited for spring?!
ReplyDeleteHah, I so remember begging my parents to let me stay up late to watch the end of a long game. It was usually easy to convince them during the summer, at least.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you are continuing your traditions and expanding your memories! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGo Braves!!!! Actually attending a game is on my 101 in 1001 list! My grandfather is a HUGE fan. Sometimes they even have alumni days at Braves games for my tiny little South Carolina liberal arts school. I have no idea why.
