We absolutely did. It was a true blessing to see the kids interact with extended family. If you don't follow me on Instagram, then you probably missed these adorable pictures. If you already follow, high fives to you!
A few highlights / meaningful moments from this weekend:
+ Ainsley and Zander giving the biggest hugs to Great Aunts and Uncles that they've never even met before. Their love for anyone in our friends and family circles is truly a blessing. Seeing them interact with Josh's uncle from California was so precious yesterday.+ Both kids' sense of selflessness is huge. They've really learned and grasped at a very young age that it's better to give than to receive. This was really shown yesterday and my heart swelled with pride.
+ Looking through old photo albums at my mom's and finding little gems of pictures with me and my sister
seriously though. how awesome were my red tights? Easter '93. I was 5. |
+ Ainsley singing her ABC's for the first time.
+ Potty training success stories! Seriously. This is kind of a big deal, and I'll explain more in a few weeks with Mamas Tell All.
For all of these moments I am GRATEFUL.
I'm grateful that my kids are starting to learn the true meaning of Easter. I'm grateful for so many things, and this past weekend just really made my heart swell with the strong sense of family, love, and faith. I really needed this past weekend.I should also ad, for the sake of my tribe, that my husband has finally made a doctor's appointment. I'm grateful that he's made the decision on his own to get his health (both mentally and physically) back as a priority. It may not seem like a big deal to some, but it is a big deal to our family.
How was your Easter weekend?
Sounds like you had a really great weekend! Your kids are so adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love looking at old pictures and reminiscing. YAY for Easter!
ReplyDeleteso so happy to hear your husband is going to see a doctor. that's really great and i know it will help him and all of you :) sounds like you had a fantastic weekend together and i loved reading that your children are already so selfless. what a proud mama you must be!
ReplyDeleteSo much goodness here! I'm happy to hear about your husband, I'm sure that put your heart at ease and also you have two of the best kids going! How adorable are they and how sweet and kind. P.s. you look awesome in that outfit!!! ox
ReplyDeleteIt really is the little things that make life as great as they are. From following you on Instagram I can definitely tell your kids provide you with lots of those moments each day. Good on your husband, I hope that helps bring back a levelness in your family. Plus just knowing what you said it's probably a big step because he decided it on his own. Men and being stubborn and all that.
ReplyDeleteokay. first of all, I'm pretty sure everyone I know had that smocked floral print dress that your sister is wearing. also I love Ainsley's CHEEEEEESE face. she smiles with all of her teeth just like I do!
ReplyDeleteshe's probably wearing it because it used to be mine. haha!! also Ainsley copies anyone taking get picture. if you squat to get an eye level shot of her, she will squat in the picture. so obviously the cheese face is a reflection of me saying "say cheeeeessseeeee!!" Bahaha
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited that I didn't have to pressure him into making the decision even though I really wanted to!!!
ReplyDeletethanks all around!! I'm really happy after this weekend. it was just what I needed
ReplyDeleteI'm beyond happy about the doctor appointment!! & I'm super proud of my kids. they know to be grateful for what they have already & they know how great it is to give something to someone else. even if it's just a picture

ReplyDeleteSORRRYY it's taken me so long to reply. spring break last week messed me up. lol. so glad you loved the pics. We had a great weekend. My hubby thought all my baby pics were hilarious. Thanks, to the 90's for the awesome clothes haha
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU! It's really refreshing to hear my kids look like me occasionally because they're really so much like Josh too. Potty training is a craaazzyyy thing. Zander was almost 3 when he was day and night trained. Ainsley is 2 years and almost 3 months and it's so hit and miss. But I don't want to super force anything either. LOL. I was happy to linkup with you. It made for a happy monday post!
