I thought today would be a perfect day to do a little interview with Llinos to let y'all get to know her better.
// Describe yourself in four words. Introverted, kind, determined, Welsh!
// I really love your blogging style. What made you start blogging?
Thank you! I thought blogging looked really fun and I wanted in on it! It seemed like a great way to create a regular writing practice and make new friends. I love it all: planning posts, writing, taking photos, commenting, tweeting, linking up, sponsoring other blogs. I feel that after months of blogging away, I have found my groove. I love that I can write serious posts about my health (including cancer, depression and infertility) but also really fun posts about books, fitness, food... whatever is going on in my daily life. Linkups, lists and tag posts are also enjoyable to write. I never post anything unless I'm 100% happy with it, and I love having a variety of post types available to readers.
// When did you publish your first book?
It was in March 2014. I had wanted to write a book about my time as a teenage cancer patient for several years, so to see 'Cancer, Chemo and Curls' published was a dream come true. Now I'm writing what I hope will be the first of many novels.
// You're a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
Well, I am the Lilac Linnet... but for once I'm not going to say lilac or purple, which are my favorite colours. I'm going to go for midnight orange, because I love painting orange sunsets, and it's such a bright and vivid colour. I hope my blog brings a little brightness into the world.
// What's the best advice you've ever been given about blogging?
It's definitely to write genuinely and from the heart. Don't be afraid to be authentically you! Also, install Disqus. It's awesome! Other than that, I don't follow any blogging advice religiously, I think it's best to follow your own path and not worry too much. If you have specific questions, reach out to other bloggers, we're a friendly bunch.
// What's your favorite movie quote?
The Imitation Game: Sometimes it is the people no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.
// Where would your dream vacation be?
I have two. I am fascinated by history, so I dream about visiting the Loire Valley in France to see the castle where Mary Queen of Scots was brought up. I love castles and I have no doubt that I'd be mesmerized by the beauty and sheer range of the castles I could visit in the Loire. The next dream is to hire a lakeside villa in Italy, and spend a leisurely week of reading, soaking up the local culture and enjoying the amazing views. I am determined to do both of these trips!
// What are your top three favorite blog posts?
- A fun and easy craft project which turned out really well
- My first ever vlog about my healthy living hopes
- An insight into living with one ovary.
So there y'all have it! Isn't she so much fun?
