Y'all, it has been since MAY that I've had a real haircut. Drunken Thanksgiving haircuts don't count. Even though my aunt took off a good inch and a half of dead / split ends. My hair needed help. Professional help. My Aunt basically forced me into making an appointment. Anywhere. After she cut my hair, the next day she gave me money as part of an early birthday present and said, "now you have no excuse not to go." Deal.
I started asking around to some of my new friends in the Monroe area. I knew for sure I wasn't going to Wal-Mart for a haircut, and Great Clips in Loganville was absolutely out of the question. I have had nothing but horrible experiences from Great Clips of any location. The polls said, "go to The Jagged Edge". So I made the appointment. Reluctantly. However, I'm so glad I did!!
The inside of the shop was SO CUTE! They sell purses and jewelry in the front part of the shop. Pictured below is my darling daughter photo bombing the pretty lobby setup.
Tamera was my stylist. I. LOVE. HER!!! I was very firm about what I wanted. (Keep as much length as possible, add more layers, THIN IT OUT!) Of course I didn't yell at her. I realize in numerous ways my
Wet hair. about to get a trim! DUN DUN DUNNN!!!! |
So... even though most of y'all have already seen the finished product, I present to you: The big reveal! Obviously I had to find the most adorable "before" picture of me that was on the computer. As Kasey would say, #ImSoCute

Linking up with Anne for Wednesday Wishes.
My wish for today is that I don't ever go this long without a haircut again. I really love having long hair, and I was kind of bummed so much had to get cut. YES I still have the length and YES I absolutely love it. By getting regular trims I'll be able to KEEP it healthy. I also wish that everyone reading have an amazing rest of the week!
Cute haircut! I love the layering, very stylish. I am currently growing my hair, it's about shoulder length but I'd love it much longer... thanks for the reminder that trims are important!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I love it :) I am getting ready to donate mine at the end of this month. I did it a few years ago, but it is time again. Nervous, but excited. You look great!
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLooks great I love getting my hair cut it makes me feel refreshed!
ReplyDeleteYES! now that I have an amazing new stylist I won't go so long in between trims. I love how light my hair is now.
ReplyDeletethanks, sweetie!! I really love it!
ReplyDeletethanks SO much!! and HOW AWESOME that you are donating! I've donated a few times, but this time around I couldn't part with THAT much length!
ReplyDeleteYES! Trims are important... otherwise you'll end up like me and having to get too much taken off from dead ends.
ReplyDeleteHot mama! You are so precious. I love that exposed brick wall in the salon, so my style! I haven't gotten a hair cut since right before my baby shower soooo January?! Ouch!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I can't even tell you the last haircut I got... #sadface. Maybe a Christmas present to myself??
ReplyDeleteLove it! I am in need of a trimming! & color too. I have not got mine done since September! & it looks horrid!
ReplyDeleteLove it! We have the same hair story! haha My last professional cut & color was in May until I had an emotional break down one night and grabbed the scissors myself! ahhh! Thankfully I didn't screw up too bad.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks awesome, friend!
Love it! Just don't get a trim too often though. Maybe every 4-6 months I'd say If you are trying to grow it back out. Deep Conditioner will help so much! Try the Aussie 3-min miracle stuff. It's like $3-4 at walmart. It's worked wonders on my hair.
ReplyDeleteomg! come to Monroe and come see this girl... she's AMAZING!!! we'll make it a girls day and go get coffee and the shop across the street.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone in this. It was definitely waaayyy too long. That before picture? yeah... way too damaged hair. #sadface indeed.
ReplyDeleteAt least it's only been a few months for you and not half a year! LOL I love your hair though! keep the red! it's great on you
ReplyDeletethanks so much for the kind words! and yeah... it's bad when you end up doing it yourself out of rage and frustration (or let your aunt do it after too much wine on Thanksgiving!) hahaha.
ReplyDeletethanks for the tips! I'll be going to the store tomorrow for sure.
ReplyDeletetrue life: my hair stylist talks so much that all I have to do is listen. haha he will talk my ear off. PS I LOVE YOUR HAIR. you are so cute! ;)

ReplyDeleteLooking pretty hot there Mama! Love the hair cut./ Hope your husband took you out to show you off. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing! I waited a long time to get mine trimmed and I hated when they had to cut all of the dead ends off because it took away some of the length I wanted to keep. BUT, it looks and feels so much healthier now and I'm in love with it! :)
